It felt absolutely FANTASTIC for me to finally get out fishing, and what a trip it was! The fishing was what I would call the walleye trip of a lifetime.
Though I have fished Erie through the 8o's and 90's, I have never experienced the continous bite that existed for all of us over four days. I truly enjoyed meeting many of the members and thank you for your words of encouragement.

Special Thanks to MY VERY CLOSE FRIENDS, Hetfieldinn, Chippewa, Joe W, CW and his son Fisherman 261 as well as WalleyeGuy. You are the individuals that allowed me to attend and enjoy this fishing trip in spite of my limitations. I cannot find the proper words to express how much I value our friendship and the time we share together. I hope that someday I can, in some way return the help you have extended to me prior to and throughout the trip. :)

Glad you enjoyed yourself. It was great to see you back out there putting a hurting on those eyes. Those walleye were probably the best medication you've had so far. This was just a start to the great year we have ahead of us. Taking care of you was rough, but someone had to do it. :p

It was great to hear you out there Ron, and even better to see you hauling in those walleye!

DITTO here. You're like an Icon on this site and I personally absorb as much information from you as I can. It was a pleasure meeting you and learning even more. Keep up with the recovery and I hope to see you again soon.

I count it a privilege to have met you. Thanks for the tips. Hoping the weekend was medicine better than any doctor could have ordered.

Ron, I must say one of the most meaningful handshakes I had during the weekend was yours. One, it was great to see you back doing something you obvious love to do and two, to have the pleasure to meet one of the most respected and helpful members (not to slight all of the others on here) of OGF. I just hope I have another opportunity to spend more time fishing with you and other members on Erie this season.

Take Care and Tight Lines! :B

Thanks for taking me out and showing me the ropes Shortdrift. I feel like im a little bit better of an Erie fisherman now.

PS. Sorry about spooling off all your fireline that you'd had on your reel with no problems for 4 years:eek:

Shortdrift...I was not in attendance.....however, I have been following this event and your status.

I will tell you the same thing I regularly tell the 83 yr old that I love to fish with......

" 'bout time you get out ya old fart. now catch something."

I am guessing....because I have never met you... and I was not there last weekend. I am guessing those who met you, fished with you, shot the sh.. with you.........those guys got far more from you than you got from them.

Keep doin what you do boss......and try to keep Het in line.

Anyone keeping Het in line AIN'T gonna happen. But then Het wouldn't be Het if he were any other way.

We have been friends and fishing partners for only a year but have had some really memorable times. Het has a special way of commenting (?????) on just about every subject that comes up, is a riot on the boat, reminds you of his presence throughout the night while sleeping (biological functions) and is a hell of a cook!:) Now, how in the hell could you try to keep all that in line?
BTW,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he also is a great walleye fisherman.
