Hi board,
I was wondering where some easily accessible half decent shore fishing might be found in Columbus. I have tried Hoover near the dam and at a few spots around the lake without much luck last year. I'm not too picky about what I catch though Crappie and Catfish are what I usually go for.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

I fish hoover from shore and do quite well at times. Mixed bag of fish crappies whitebass, cats, sometimes Lm, Sm and everynow and then saugeye. Theres only a few places that produce decent catches from shore. Riprap areas are best from shore u might catch anything there. Also be able to fish diffrent depths down to 30ft. The more active fish should be north of baldridge up to the creeks.

well depends on how active i feel that day, ive had success both ways with minnows especially at alum creek and hoover. sometimes i just tip a jig with minnow and bounce it slow if i wanna cast and retreive more, if i take my gf with me, usually we just sit there in some chairs i then i rig our gear with drop shots, usually with two hooks, one 6 inches off bottom and the other about three feet up.
