Yeah i would be interested...Dont' have the proper ice gear,but would like to give it a try ..Only ice fished once.

What are the GOT TO HAVES and CAN GET BY WITH ice stuff do i need. ? Can i use one of my kids short poles ? Just talking this trip .Don't plan on going alone ..I'm a rookie on this ice stuff so bare with me ..

Weekends are good for me..Maybe a friday too

hey mike i was actually on the ice lol i almost went to atwood but i got invited to mohawk again.. slammed em again. crappies and perch.. but i will be on atwood next week for sure.. got my zip locs full of perch now im ready for some big ole slabs from atwood.. u get some extra time and would like to go give me a call ill show ya a thing or 2 out there. always lookin for someone to fish with.. but again the 23rd or 30 let me know guys

Hey just outta curiosity how tough is it getting in and out of that parking lot? My truck isn't 4wd and isn't the greatest in heavy snow. does someone keep it cleaned out? i'm guessing probably not.

Sounds like we may finally meet up SSam.. We been talking 3 plus yrs on this site about Atwood lake and meeting up..Hope both our plans hold up.

For baits just a few small jigs is all you need. I usually tip one with a waxie and one with a minnow. An ice scoop is nice to clear your hole after fish. Any light action rod is good for the crappie and gills at Atwood. I use 3lb test on most of my rods. Most likely I will be out there that weekend if the ice is still good.

 

dont worry guys with the 2x4 i carry a set of chains ill drag ya right out if u get stuck.. 23rd works for me .. 24th works also

hey snag.. its been a while. last time i talked with u. we were hittin skeeter good.. that gas auger would be awesome! theres a lil rr bridge i look for out there sometimes i get lucky and get on it and sometimes i dont. my vexilar just goes nuts when i get on it.. if you bring it ill use it lol

 

hey mike any rod reel combo that is light action is good.. if theres any with the lil metal spring bobbers at the end of the rod those are perfect.. thats all i use.

 

I see that the temps are suppose to climb back into the upper 30's this weekend! Does anyone know what the temps for next week are looking like. I hope this doesn't ruin the get together on the 23rd. Hey freakofnature, did you have a set time we should meet down there on the 23rd?
