Soooo, I'm fishing Mogadore in my kayak on Sunday, when I notice two cop cars, one with the lights going, in the area of my truck. I high-tail it back over to the ramp, where there's a couple locals talking to one of the officers. Come to find out that the police just busted up a meth lab out in the woods near the lake - THE SECOND IN TWO WEEKS, said the local. I hope they're catching these guys and not just busting up the labs. Pretty disturbing, be careful out there folks.

Oh BTW, caught 8 bass and a grass pike, biggest around 15".

From what I hear there is a lot of them out here. Just be careful where you tread. There are no local police in the area and the sherrif takes care of the problems. I have lived here for over 6 years and have only seen a sherrifs car 3-4 times. Brimfield has rule over part of the lake and they are far and few between. John

Cory, are you talking about where we were fishing Mogadore last year? I always figured that was a good place for someone to break into your car. I was thinking of going there on Sunday too but I was too lazy to get my kayak out. What'd you get them on?

Yes Joel, same area. All fish hit a 5" purple/chartreuse worm with a curly tail.

I bet a grass pike would make a pretty cool tank fish, like having a pigmy tiger musky. They're like the super aggressive ankle biter dogs of the fish world. - tiny, but absolutely vicious. I can't even count the number of times I've caught one on a lure that was every bit as big as the grass pike. If you're serious about wanting one Steve, you should hit the side ponds in Punderson S.P. Not much shore access, but a few weeks ago, Cheesemm2 and I must have caught half a dozen or so out there in one day.

I have been thinking of getting a few of these Mog grass
pike for aquarium use as well! They are pretty neat little fish!
A school of about 6 would be an awsome display in a planted
125-150 gallon!......Also been meaning to get some of those
smaller bowfin from Mog as well ;)

You wouldn't think it....but ussually bowfin are
quite timid fish! They don't really show much aggression
at all to their tank mates. They will however eat just about
anything they can fit in their mouth!

weeeelll danielles mom's boss gave her mom a 55g tank + filters + pine stand + light and heater for FREE and since danielles mom already has a really nice 55 setup... it was offered to me for......FREE hehe so yeah im serious aboot the grass pike id just have to find a way to get it from punderson to my house in ravenna without killing it so id have to have a decent sized bucket with an aerator and take the smoothest way home... which unfortunatly.. goes through mantua... which is a suspension dyno

so what exactly did you use to get them cory?

how about jigheads tipped with minnows thrown right into a weedbed... would that work?

is that why that spinner looks like its been through hell and back?

also are the side ponds easier to access then the side ponds at tinkers creek? .... trying to make it into the back ponds at tinkers creek reminds me of the jungle in predator 1

Not to interrupt the ongoing fishn' aspects- but man, do heed warnings about Meth lab encounters earlier posted. It sounds like they are coming our way in full force. There is not a more dangerous or powerful drug out there- waitnsee.

This has become a HUGE problem in rural Kentucky fishn' areas I grew up in for outdoors people- and not just because the people who boobytrap and guard the labs.

The byproducts are VERY DEATHLY dangerous- anhydrous ammonia and hydrogen chloride seeks out moisture when it escapes and goes straight for your respioritory system- nose-eyes-lungs- DEAD- look out for copper fittings that are discolored especially green, on things like discarded propane tanks.

Crazy world keepn me employed!!! Now to keep outdoorsfolks alive!!!!
