The depth changes so wildly with rain vs. dry conditions that I’m not sure how helpful it would be. Maybe the stretch between Maumee and the lake woul be useful since it’s lake-level. Haven’t seen a map though.

 

Walk the river in the dead of summer and learn where water/holes are still holding fish.

 

Back in the late 80's I had a 14' aluminum boat. We would put in at Farnsworth and catch walleye and cats in the summer. I graduated to a lake boat, but now have made the circle back to a small aluminum. Other than Farnsworth and Maple street access in P'burg that's the only places I have put in except above the dam in Grand Rapids.

 

My friend and I once waded all the way across to the island at Buttonwood when the water was low. It never got more than waist deep. We tried it again the following year in the same spot when the water was much lower and there was a long drop off that we couldn't get around or cross. As Bucket Mouth said, I think the depth can fluctuate in spots when the river floods and the current is strong.
