Fished SW corner of dump area N41 30.946 W82 12.709 moved three times one perch to show for it 5:00-7:00. Moved to 17ft of water in front of Sheffield condos among all the walleyes trollers hoping to get a stray walleye on a casting rig. Caught two Gobis...yeah!

Probably should have tosses a RR out or a smith wick P10 couldn't have been any worse. Hope the rest of you had better luck.

Rusty, were you using a perch spreader of any kind? I was up there yesterday with two older guys who were using the spreaders. I was catching fish with only 30 seconds to a minute or so laps in between. While the other 2 guys weren't even getting any bites at all. I only use a basic hook, line and sinker approach to perch fishing. After about 20 minutes of me catching white and yellow perch, one of the other guys asked if he could use one of my other lines with the same set up to fish with. I said sure. He started catching fish immediately. So now 2 of us are catching perch of both kinds. Then I get a walleye on and land it. Then the 3rd guy in the boat couldn't take it anymore. He finally asked to use another one of my basic set ups. Now all 3 of us are catching fish. He kept saying that it makes no sense as to why we were catching fish with such a simple set up. But that the perch spreaders couldn't even get a bite.
Personally I just don't like all the gaudy stuff that comes with the spreaders. But that is just me. I have been in the boat when those things work great. But like yesterday, I have also seen it the other way around. Just something to think about next time.
Where you marking any fish on the bottom? We were marking a lot of fish on the bottom yesterday. And they were biting.... I never stop the boat until I mark fish on the bottom when looking for perch....

I was using a swedish pimple with a shelled hook about 6 inches away. I was fishing right off the bottom. Not sure I trust my fish finder yet , older lawrence, and no fish were seen. What kind of finder are you using?

Rustyolddad is you fish finder color or black and white. My old black on white fish finder used to just mark perch and small blocks that would stick up off the bottom they would mind if resemble structure. My new sonar will mark small arcs or it will look like a pile of red yellow in the bottom
