Clarity is decent, water is still up but have noticed about 2-3 feet of droppage over the last 2 weeks from some banks I've been fishing. Haven't checked Boathouse ramp, but 44 "dirt path" all good. Seen people puttin' in bass boats yesterday when I was there.

LaPoo is not a deep res, if it's your first time there, would recommend launching out of the Boathouse and fishing the "main" section north of 422.

Thanks. I have fished the lake quite a bit 10-15 years ago but not lately. I was thinking of trying under the 422 bridge for Crappie/Perch. Years ago we used to fish the other bridge on the back part of the lake in the Spring and we did well on the Crappie. That parking lot was in poor shape back then but not sure what it looks like now.

 

I fished the lake on 5/16/24 in the afternoon. Initially I was fishing in 15-16' of water with red worms with Crappie rigs. One after another of white and yellow perch. Ratio was probably 2 white perch to 1 yellow perch. Yellow perch were all small. 4-5". Catch and release. I ended up with 8 nice size Crappie and 1 10" yellow perch. Great day on the water.

 

Kill them white perch don't release them back. The gulls and eagles will thank you and so will the rest of the lakes inhabitants. They are invasive and a burden to the lake it is encouraged to eliminate them.

 

Took the wife and kid out there yesterday afternoon. Buddy and his wife met us and we did some trolling I got skunked and my buddy got a nice 20" eye

All kidding aside, nice fish. One day the Poo will grant me an Eye. I've fished it enough, am I not deserving

They don't taste bad either, and I'm not a big fish fan. Tho the White Perch haven't been too bad for me this year, they waiting for summer to piss me off

 

You want me to save them for you 😀 I won't smash them with my oar or off the side of the boat so they are not mush 🤣 🤷‍♂️

 

Just grab them under the gills and rip the head backwards. My buddy and I did that several years ago and left a trail of white perch. The eagles followed us around the lake all day.

 

We play baseball. Whoever catches is at bat there's foul tips 3 strikes next batter. Been fishing there to long with to many of 100+ perch days. Have to make it fun and the birds love it lol had a eagle maybe 10' from me he or she was enjoying our offer

 

The white Perch in Ladue have fed quite a few people too with fish fries. Too bad I can't hit the lake right now, white Perch wouldn't be a problem for me.

 

I'm using white perch as bait for catfish. Works great.
