Well sitting here on this rainy Friday afternoon in a coffee shop sending emails and keep distracting myself with thoughts of having boat ready for ice out! I fig plenty others are having the same thoughts...

Buddy an I went in on our boat two seasons ago but have yet to have it out "early" an when we did get it out we strictly targeted crappie on the spawn shallows. Before shifting into trolling bouncers for eyes late spring/summerThis yr Id like to target eyes from the get go, obviously nailing crappie in between.

Boats located next to Alum so this is the main body we fish as easy access....

Looking for some plan of action tips and tactics, depth ranges etc others use early in the spring when targeting eyes from boat. We have Success running bouncers and harnesses when we stared targeting em.

Not looking for spots etc. I know alum well geographically on the water just tactics others use as a learning tool for buddy an I to go off! Good discussion while we wait for remainder of ice to clear up.

Cheers! Appreciate any insight

Well just on a side note there are some fools out on the ice at marina deep mouth area. Just plain stupid to risk your life for a few fish. I don't care if they say there's 10" still with the current that alum produces and spillway wide open just asking for trouble. 10" Ice does not mean strong ice. Guys be smart out there. Chad go south around beach and drift with blades and heavy jigs and bass minnows drag jig along bottom while you blade bait.

Troy,
First off appreciate the tip, was def in my head as similar presentation produced through ice.

Second, they out there today? I agree man, I fished docks past two eves and seen a few guys at the mouth and out front. I don't want anyone to be a statistic. Specially not seeing safety gear minimally. This isn't a northern state type late season ice.

OnTheFly that is one hell of an advice bit Ya have to buddies lol. If one knows what their doin an has the safety gear is one thing. Thurs/fri I seen a few people jus step off docks and walk right out not even checkin ice. But to each their own.. After today's rain lord i hope no one attempts to get back out for "One last trip" just might be the "last"
