Last 2 years I've pulled a few in the 1st 2 weeks of June as far south as the Chagrin goes. Unfortunately I kinda abandoned the river this year really early and only fished it 2 days since beginning of May.

Last year or idk if it was year before there was sorta that drought where the late stragglers got gated off in pools end of May beginning of June.

I've caught them as late as 2nd week of June and caught them as early as 3rd week of August. But for those I put in an absolute butt-ton of hours fishing with so many skunked days to catch 'em that late and early.

 

Interesting! I did talk to someone on the Chagrin last week who said they’d seen a few so I guess they’re still in there as well.

 

Saw a few on the rocky Saturday during the stream cleanup event. Further upstream than I expected. Fast water.

Have caught some in June using crankbaits for smallies. Most around 16-20”. Latest was last week of June far upstream in a deep run fishing for smallies.

I've caught and seen steelhead in the Chagrin river up at Daniels park in mid May 3 years ago.

Beaty landing on the grand river I came across a dozen or so steelhead 18" to 22". They were in some fast water that led to a very deep hole (10' plus) this was in mid July two years ago. It was on the 90's that day.
