just about any small creek around here is bound to ahev chubs in it as long as it has good flowing water, I usually use a small hokk and just catch my chubs. Shad you will have to go to a lake or river to get any quality ones.

 

do you suggest any methods for chubs? I can usually get 1 to 2 shad per couple of throws right now in rivers but I got a few chubs by accident, and was wondering if there is a better method.

 

Hoover up at Oxbow would be my choice. You can typically see shad making whirlpools and popping on the surface within a short distance from the bank. You can also see schools of what I assume are juvenile fish drifting around.

Yea, Silent Mike is right. There are tons of shad skimming the top of the water at griggs.
