I'm looking to add a better unit at the console. Basic function I'm looking for is downscan and GPS.
I currently have a UHD 93SV up front with livescope, initially I was just going to get another one for the console, but they are no longer made. So, if I want to stay with Garmin, I have to go with the UHD2 93 SV ($1200). The updated model comes with the GT56 UHD transducer. I guess my question is that transducer worth the extra $500 in quality vs the GT54 that came with the older unit?
I've also looked at the Lowrance Eagle 9 with tripleshot transducer ($700). It looks like It's all I really need function wise but how's the picture quality?

If anyone has either of these units, could you give a little review? Likes/dislikes or meets/beats expectations ect.

Thanks in advance for any and all who reply.

I'm getting a few answers each way. However, I've been watching some YouTubes on the GT56 and I'm just not seeing it.
I have an older Lowrance Gen 1 HDS 10 unit that has over 700 waypoints on it. I found about half of those spots with an old Eagle flasher. I do like the touch screen feature of the Garmin, not so much a fan of Lowrance and all the buttons.
