I use a bow hanger , dont like to keep moving around trying to be comfortable.

Mine sits perfectly across the shooting rail on the one man ladder stands. I also use a real tree ez bow hanger

 

If you do get a bow hanger get a Good one you can adjust length, angles with . Makes a difference having the bow in a natural position instead of having the bow slightly out of reach. You don’t want that

Yup! As far as having a crossbow in a treestand, I have a suggestion that may be completely worthless. When I was making the switch from vertical bow to crossbow due to bad shoulders there was a reverse limb bow in the rack. I took it down to look it over and put it to my shoulder. It balances perfectly on my left hand with it directly under the yoke. So much easier to handle than those nose heavy, front limbed crossbows.

 

I have a sumit viper and my xbow limbs rest perfectly across the corner of the rail. This takes almost all the weight and stock lays across my legs. I really don't notice it's there to be honest.

 

I use an AR-style sling while sitting in a climber. That way it's secure to me and I don't need to put my hands on it while at rest. While in a saddle, I use a hook.

 

I lay mine diagonal on the shooting rest and either my right leg or the base of the stand armrest if it fits. I'm headed out this weekend and will try to remember to take a pic to share. Basically, though, if looking straight ahead from my position is 12 o'clock... the front end of the bow would be pointing at 10-11... and the butt would be nestled in around 4-5.

I lay my bow the same way. We hunt out of the muddy 1.5 man tree stands with the full platform. Mine rest perfectly on the shooting rail with the butt end on or against my right hip.

 

When I need to be on high alert, I keep mine with front end of the crossbow resting on platform in front of my legs just inside my feet and hold onto the butt/stock of the crossbow. Hope this helps.
