Went to the pier at Galena and pulled out 14 crappy in about 3 hours. Got one fat one almost 13 inches.
Galena is a small town or village, just north of Westerville, OH and south of Sunbury, OH. The Big Walnut runs through Galena and feeds into Hoover on the very north end. It is off of Old 3C Highway/County Rd 24. Galena is known for its White Bass run, which should be coming up within a week or 2. There is a nice pier that you can walk on and in this case fish on also. Galena is just a little blip on a map.VERY nice catch of crappiesMind if I ask you where the heck is Galena lol? Again nice bunch of fish......Dan
Had my box with me with a ruler and made sure they were all nine inches, let a few close ones go, thanksNice stringer of fish.
Just remember the 9 inch limit. Dont want to see anyone getting into trouble.
Did you fish off of the dam any last spring?Had my box with me with a ruler and made sure they were all nine inches, let a few close ones go, thanks![]()
Nope, sorry....wasn't in here last spring.Did you fish off of the dam any last spring?![]()
I use to live in Sidney, OH. I will keep you on major routes since you are not from the area. The easiest way I would say is take 70E to Columbus and get on I-670E just before downtown Columbus. Take it to I-270 North. Stay in the right hand lanes and because you are going to want to get off onto St. Rt. 161. Just pay attention to the signs. The Highway will split and if you try to branch to the left you will not be able to get to 161. When you get to 161 take to the East and stay in the right hand lane and immediately get off on the Sunbury Rd exit. It will wrap around and turn right onto Sunbury Rd. You will see signs for Hoover Reservoir. Know you can go down and fish anywhere down Hoover Reservoir as you are driving past it. There are a couple of bait shops if you want to stop buy at. The easiest one is The Old Dutchman on the right just before you get to the dam at the reservoir.Would you mine giving me directions from Dayton, Oh I am from there, but want to come up north me and my husband this weekend for some bass, crappie which ever is plentiful for the weekend.
Also nice stringer. What did you catch them on.
670 east pretty much dead ends into 270, left lanes going 270 north and right lanes going 270 south. so his directions are still good. Going to try and make it out to Galena in the next few weeks and see if I can get a white bass bigger than 12". Caught a few at alum last fall but they were all smalller.Didn't you mean 670 to I-71 North (not I-270 North)? At least not from 670, the 2 roads do not intersect. Or you could take 70 East to 270 North & follow around the city to 161 East than Sunbury Rd.
