Id like to get everyone opinion. If someone was to ask you where to go to in Ohio to find crappie, what would you tell them? Bring on the pictures.
In NEO, the smaller lakes are good earlier lakes since they warm faster(Mogadore, Wingfoot in my area are two examples). You likely have ponds or smaller lakes in your area? Since you are in Parkersburg, some of the Ohio lakes(you might know abt already) are Atwood, Salt Fork, Tappan, Piedmont, Clendenning) are all good crappie lakes(some have saugeye) and within an hour or so up 77 to you. The NEO larger lakes previously mentioned might require a weekend trip but hungry, post spawn walleye are also a real possibility during the crappie spawn?! Welcome aboard, and Good luck where ever you end up. Post some pics!Id like to get everyone opinion. If someone was to ask you where to go to in Ohio to find crappie, what would you tell them? We are going to take a stab at Caesar Creek Lake this year. Not sure what to expect, I see Cowan Lake is close by as well. Anyone?
Cowan is 9.9 hp, no size limit on crappie, but decent numbers of 9 -11 inch fish. Cowan isn’t as deep, always stained. CC is unlimited HP, fishes a little tougher for me. CC seems to have better size overall. 9 inch size limit. Both are good crappie lakes.
Very Nice. With that spill upriver, I'm going to let the river clean its self for a while. Use to catch them up the little Kanawha river but have not been for some time. Thanks for the PICS.Parkersburg, WV. ??
And you don't have dozens of slab pics FROM THE OHIO RIVER?
As you can see,, these pics are from the GOOD 'OL DAYS.
