Hey guys and gals. The Buckeye Crappie Challenge is hosting a crappie fishing tournament on Alum Creek this Saturday. If anyone is interested I can post the link to their website or you can google it.

The membership fee is $20. The entry fee is $75 + a $10 late fee if not registered a week in advance.

My uncle and I are entered and we are hoping to better our performance on Delaware Resevoir in June.

Crittergitter - Good luck, I normally would be out their and I know some good summer time holes at Alum that hold crappie but a week before Labor Day not good. The lake will be filled with a few last pleasure boaters. I wish they would have waited and held this tournament after labor day. Good luck and let us know the results.

We finished 11th out of 30. Not bad I guess for our 2nd tournament ever and quite an improvement over our performance at the Delaware tournament in June so we enjoyed it. It was tough fishing, but we were able to find 1 real nice one. A 2nd real nice one would have probably put us in the money, but oh well that's how fishing goes sometimes. Again, we have a lot of fun.

1st 4.66,2nd 4.45,3rd 4.22 i think that was weights for 2,3 all were over 4 pounds. Want to congratulate crittergitter and his partner for there placing 11 as critter said it was anybodies to win if you could find a couple nice slabs. And that is what the top ones did no one had 8 dandies. They were in hiding my partner and i were all over the lake searched all the spots i had been hitting fish and more we got 8 keepers but no big ones we ended up 18th was by far the tuffest day on that lake i have had in along while. About week ago the cooler nights really changed the fish i had three spots that were sitting with nice 12-14" crappies but last week they were gone and i tried acouple days before tourney to find them. Oh well thats why it is fishing. We had a great time and it is a nice tourney will try it again sometime. But next time i hope they check the fish better at weigh in there were quite a few short of 9" that slipped thru. Oh yea bigger catches came off deep weeds off points up from marina and acrossed. Was nice meeting critter and a couple other guys from site. I say Back to Oshay where the slabs are hungry!! :D
