Happy New Year OGF. Welcome to the 2024 version of fish & random Pictures/stories.

I got out this morning just before light out and caught my first fish of the new year with my 4th drift. A solid little 15" rainbow.

I hope 2024 is full of goodtimes and tight lines.

Happy New Years

Also got out this morning before dark... Constant drizzle torture for the next 3 hours :(

Landed 3, all on chartreuse bags... No luck with any other colors.

Kept one, filled to the T with eggs, hopefully I do a better job with these ones.

Bunch of family over for New Years so don't need to worry bout cooking this thing :)

Check ✔ It out ... Dick's in Bainbridge looks like they are 80% done with a restock and rearrange with the fishing 🎣 department. 4 out of the six walls are full with lures/terminal tackle and whatnot. Some new stuff with Steelhead/trout and what looks like a mini beef up with spinners.

I get it with high prices and whatnot ... But still nice to have a place that has a little bit of everything.

Pictures ... 📷

Anyone ever try these goby lures?

Nope. Avon is the closest for me I would guess 🤔 I haven't really done the math yet with all that Ohio and Bass Pro has to offer. My thing with Bass Pro is ... I never drive towards those areas or fish near them.

Mark's bait
Dick's
Westbranch tackle
Chagrin outfit
WALMART (Boro)
My garage lol.

These are my go 2's for lures/terminal tackle and whatnot. A couple other small shops are Don's harbor up near Fairport and that little bait shop tucked off Lakeshore Blvd in Eastlake.

Pettigrew feed & hardware in Edinburg has a BASS PRO area inside. Actually a very decent amount of stuff a long with a lot of LOCAL baits/lures. A must stop if you are in the area for sure 😊.

Edinburg store on the corner is also a must stop.

Seen them changing some stuff around there last couple weeks... Holding out for more variety but sadly this is the time of their big restock, but they are at least organizing it slightly better. Sort of a repeating cycle at least from my experience living near it and Walmart being the only other option(Walmart next door has 2 isles with only a few worthy things). They stock big once a year, then the shelves turn to empty spaces as the weeks pass. Their bait cooler is empty 7/12 months as well, they really should turn that thing off, least the Pet store next door has most of what you would need.

You will get spawn nets there cheaper than most places(if in stock), including Amazon. Shockingly that is my local Dicks saving grace.

There are 2 guys who you can talk to there that will "try" to order things, but they're limited by what they're "allowed".

I'm just sad, they had 2 years straight where they were selling 3pack Kastmasters for 8.95... Since this change they're 13 :( Amazon had the 3pack sale again this week though, so I'm stocked back up.

I've actually never stopped at the Streetsboro Walmart. I go down that way a bunch in the summertime when I hit up WB and Berlin/Milton/DC/DW. I had usually been hitting up the place on 14. He said he was selling it, when I talked to him last summer, hopefully that's not the case I enjoy my visits on the way down.

Also a big fan of the bait shack in Eastlake, decent priced jigs, I know they close up in Winter but if you pick up his card he tries open up for you(if he's around) to purchase things if you give him a call, he also owns the Marina up there. Really nice guy and love his puppers.

I was on the hunt for 2" white Berkley Power Minnows. I've had plenty of shopping around to do, so blew off Amazon. Dick's in Strongsville - Laughable. Walmart in Strongsville - Joke. Berea Fin Feather Fur - nothing stocked! Walmart in Avon - Bigger Joke. I work in Avon, so stepped foot in Cabela's...certainly they'd have them there...

NOPE. I hate that Cabela's. It's a turd. Had I more time I would have jumped over to Erie Outfitters and gladly paid them. Would have bought something anyways.

So back to Amazon drawing board and I'll have 3pks at my house tomorrow :ROFLMAO:

Haven't had the best luck since New Years, prolly mostly my fault, I'm stubborn lately and am refusing to give up on spots that have done well in the past.

Anyhoo, landed a decent female in my stubborn spot this morning... Then nothing but seeing a few surface, so I actually moved and tried a few spots in a different park. Got hit a bunch, landed nadda :( But that was promising, too bad we got a hurricane tomorrow and then the stuff that makes ice fisherman happy comes :( 😨 😭

Due to lack of fish pictures... Here's a fly/nymph, no clue what fly fishermen call em, that I snagged along with a hook, bead and swivel the other day.

Hopefully I can get out before we freeze up, or hopefully we don't freeze in the new few weeks.🙏
