WTB: Mercury Prokicker

Discussion in 'OGF Marketplace' started by COmmodore 64, Mar 3, 2009.

  1. Looking for a Mercury 9.9 Prokicker. Remote preferred, but not necessary. Looking to spend between 1,500 and 2k.

  5. It's a Crestliner Canadian 1850.

How long can you troll on a Terrova? And what lb thrust are you rockin'?

I have a 80# Terrova 24v system on my 21' Starcraft and use it as my autopilot and some days I use it soley to troll with, without even starting my kicker. It will move me from .5 up to 3.5 mph and will troll for more than eight hours cranked up. there has been times when I have trolled 2-3 days in a row on a single charge, before plugging in the on-board charge. I'm sure good batteries has a lot to do with it. I use Sears Platinum Series batteries installed by Vics Sportcenter. The batteries came highly recommended by them as well as Gary Zart.

Listened to Frank McKittrick last night.....he suggested trolling bags which would be a lot cheaper than either a kicker or an electric motor.....

I had the Merc Pro Kicker 9.9 on my 1800 Lund and was able to get down to
.6mph GPS and now have it on my Starcraft 180 Sportfisherman with the same results. A standard 9.9 with a three blade prop will not get you down to the low end trolling speeds. Put a low pitch four blade on and you will lower the speed and improve the direction control. I am having a MK Terova 80# with auto pilot and wireless installed so I can leave the helm and relax.

C64, look on eBay. There's a shop in Port Clinton selling a couple flavors of new Merc 9.9's with 20" and electric start at $1695 and up last night.

  15. I need a 25-inch shaft. The 20-inch just doesn't cut it on our 2-stroke 9.9 that we currently have.

Not all Kicker motors are created equal, the pro kicker is the beast of all kicker motors, others.. even other 4 strokes don't compare.

  17. Still looking...the dealers are talking 3k for a tiller model...That's a bit much.
