Well I "gots" a Mercury 4hp. It's been a great little motor. I used it for a kicker to troll with on my 16 foot v-hull, beside my 40 hp tiller.
The motor is a 1977 I believe. It runs like an electric motor. Smooth. Will idle for hours on end. Has a newer water pump (put it in, but it wasn't bad before).
Has a new 3 gallon plastic tank to go with it. It's a long shaft, pull start, tiller.
Stored always in my heated garage - never seen freezing weather. Always ran carb dry before storing. Selling because I switched back down from a 40 hp to a 25 hp, and the 25 does the trolling now.
    Will take $275.

...i'm assuming the lil merc 4 has the standard wrap around cowling band, F-N-R, and takes the large T type alum fuel fitting, of that era 70-mid 80's...correct?? how central are ya'??....if u could send pics that would be even better.
    thanks.

Yes, it has the tee type fuel fitting, and the band at the lower edge of the cowl lid.
I pulled the orginal certificate of ownership from the file. It's a 1972 model.
Don't the age fool you. This thing will outlast all of us.
I'll take pictures after work and post them Friday night.

    Thanks.
