winter reel "spray"

    just wondering if anyone here knows the name(s) of the product you spray your reels with for winter storage so they dont seize up, ect...i cant seem to remember it for the life of me tonight...must be getting old or something.

    never sprayed mine. maybe WD-40?

    i assume that would work, not what i have seen used in the past, ill search around and see what i find.
     
  4. I've heard not to use wd-40 cause it attracts dirt and unwanted stuff. All i ever hear is a good reel oil and grease.
     
  5. Back off any drag or antibacklash controls and store in a dry place. It would be preferable to clean and lube before storage. I cannot see any spray that would be a magic bullet and may do harm if sprayed in the wrong place.
     
  6. There is something I have seen at wal mart called reel magic and I think it is to spray your line to make it cast better but may have other uses too. Is this what you are thinking of?
