When Is Loud Too Loud?

  1. First Off,, Does The Hum Of A Gas Kicker In Less Than 8 Ft Of Water Scare Fish? Second, What Abot Playing The Radio?

    It doesn't seem to bother the eyes on Erie. Several boats troll all night in shallow water when the eyes are in and they slay em. Then again the lures are usually way back behind or out from the boat on planers. In small waters id say yes the kicker can't help things.

    I think the sound waves from the radio bounce off of the water and don't penetrate. Unless of course your blaring it.

    Dropping things in the boat that make a thud on the other hand scatters them for a minute IMO.

    some people have no trouble catching saugeyes while trolling short lines at up to 5-6 mph in 4 feet of water with their outboard,so at least they aren't bothered by it;)
