It (they) seem to have more white vs the golden color of the majority of carp I catch.

Common carp. It's been so long since Mellon Head has caught a fish, doesn't even reconize the fish he catches anymore  ........... :D ....... Carp vary in color.... ;)

scott is right on the money.it's a common carp.i've caught them from very light colors(like that fish)to very dark, from various waters, and even from the same water.i'm not sure, but i think diet may also be a contributing factor in color.
maybe bob,the carp professor can shed some more light on the subject.

Yup Misfit, just like flatheads and channel cats...mainly diet and where there caught determins a lot in the color.

Ive got a good FOX carp video that shows a carp they caught that looks like it has red blotches all over it, they think its because its been eating too make Robin red boilies(a strong spicy red bait additive)........ive litterally seen 100's of color variations of carp from all over the world(plus the range of shapes)...pretty interesting....i think most of us that fish for carp a lot now really get into catching "common" carp that have odd markings, scale patterns, different colors....plus that not so common Mirror carp.
Theres not to many species that can look so different from thier own kind like carp.

If you want to see some great carp pictures sometime, just browse through some of these threads...
