Ok, i caught this 4.25" fish on a fragment of shiner while Yellow Perch fishing. I know it looks like something straight out of the minnow bucket but it actually was 'caught'. Is it just a big shiner?, if it is kinda curious that it ate shiner meat...

    thanks in advance

It looks like an "Alewive". They're supposed to be pretty prolific in the great lakes.
The black spot on the tail has me a little confused. Maybe someone else will be able
to confirm it but that's certainly what it looks like to me.
