What have you been tying?

Inspired by a similar thread on another forum (its a sticky there... thoughts, mods?). Good place to share your recent work, inventions, experiments, etc. I know we have some great tiers here so I think this can get interesting.

I'll start with some random things from my vise in the last couple days.
Here is an experimental craw pattern using my cat's shed fur for dubbing:

Here are some Pigtails that I tied with the intent of being fished with a sinking leader for hybrids:

Hope to see some good patterns from everyone!

The Funnybunny Sculpin. Lots of rabbit used in different ways (traditional, dubbing loop, and slapped across the head).

I don't believe I've posted in this section before but tonight's tie was too good to not share. Last night, saw a YT for a simple fly called the Golden Retriever. I don't have golden/tan Marabou nor the same in cactus chenille but figured it would be good for white bass and smallies if I tied it in white. Tied up a couple and they came out perfect (pretty simple flies, so...). All was good until I noticed the slotted bead had covered the jig hook eye perfectly! Time to give up for tonight! o_O

I love bendbacks. This year I am vowing to fish them more often.

The Golden Retriever remains a staple fly in Maine for decades.

I still keep a similar fly in my box but I use white marabou for the tail with olive sparkle chenille. Works well in dirty water for steelies. I caught my first player (over 12 pounder) on the pattern in late February 2002 with it. Very easy tie.

I might get a chance to do some mousing in TN soon. I love this little mouse for bass, adding the stinger for trout. Last summer down there, this same pattern in a natural brown/white got blown up several times at night. No hookups.

I will be around the Grayling area in late June doing the same thing. Good luck and hang on.

It's probably a bad thing to admit, but these past few years I need some motivation to sit down and tie a lot of flies. Usually that motivation is "going fishing soon." I'm going fishing soon.

I don't tie anything up until I start fishing. I look forward to your posts. Your posts also inspire me to tie up some flies. You should consider your mentorship on this board as a reason to tie. I am sure there are many others beside myself who look forward to your posts.
Thank You Cream.

Your posts are inspiring. I'm not good at fly tying and I do just enough to get by. When I tye the Atlantic pollock fly it takes me 45 mins to tye one. Lol it takes days to get motivated. Then I think about how much they cost a piece and I'm a tying fool.

Tying for me is relaxing and out of necessity. Folks like yourself are far more passionate about tying than I am, but I do feel a great sense of accomplishment hooking a fish on something I have tied.

Yep he is the Cream of the crop around here.
Inspiring to us all.

Many people tell me how much patience I have, and I do have more than most people. When it comes to fly tying, I try to teach myself to tie a fly in 15 minutes or less. Maybe 5 minutes or so for the smaller flies. Mostly because I know I'm going to lose the best of them one day.

Many of the flies Cream and others tie here, I wouldn't even attempt because I know the time they will take. I can tell you though, I bought a deer hair mouse pattern for trout in Ausable area of MI a dozen years ago. I haven't been able to use it for trout. But I've caught more than 30 bass on it and have gone in water a couple times to retrieve it from a tree or log. I guess I should rethink taking the time to tie the best flies.

If any of you want to meet and tie together over winter, count me in.
