Lots of perch at the Branch. Most are undersized. Outside of weed edges. a buddy and I will be out there tomorrow.
there were 4 trailers yesterday and 6 tonight at the Gilbert ramp. This is the best time now after Labor Day without the crowds.
Heading out now. We will be targeting crappie. Will let you know how we do. Oh yea, the water level came back up quite a bit. Not as low as it was due to Monday rains. Drove over the Wayland bridge Thursday and Friday and it appears they aren’t letting much water out.
We did pretty good today. Nothing down by the dam. Went over to the no wake side to 2 spots. One a 10’ flat in the middle of the lake and one in a bay and fished
2-4fow. Caught about 30 crappie mostly 9-10” and 3 11”, a few blue gill, a white bass and channel. Water temp about 74.
Not too crowded at all today. Saw the sheriff boat escort someone back past RS bridge. Don’t know if they made them leave.
My wife caught a perch out there on Saturday on a Texas rigged creature bait! Slow day overall... 1 perch, 2 rock bass, and 2 LM that probably weighed a pound and a half combined! Had not been out for a week and most of the weed lines we had been catching LM at were gone. First year fishing West Branch, so we still have a lot to learn.
