A boy had heard stories of an amazing family tradition in his family.

It seems that his father, grandfather and great-grandfather had all been able, on their 21st birthday, to walk on water to the boat club across the lake for their first legal drink.

When Junior's 21st came around, he and his pal, took a boat out to the middle of the lake. Junior stepped out of the boat and nearly drowned. His friend just managed to pull him to safety.

Furious and confused Junior went to see his grandmother, "Grandma," he asked, "it's my 21st birthday. Why can't I walk across the lake like my father, his father, and his father before him?"

The wise Grandmother looked into Junior's eyes and said, "Because, my son, your father, grandfather and great-grandfather were born in January. You, my idiot grandson, were born in July."
