Wading in West Virginia Question

Discussion in 'Fishing Reports - Out of State' started by MSmith2004, Jun 11, 2007.

  1. I'm current in WV on a fishing trip with my dad. We were wondering about the wading laws. Are they like Ohio and the land owners own the land under the river? Is it more strict/lenient? I figured the good guys at OFG would respond quicker than calling/e-mailing the WV Dnr. Thanks a lot if anyone knows. PS...Anyone familiar with the Sutton Dam tailwaters? Be fishing for trout/walleye there tomorrow.
  2. You will not run into much trouble while wade fishing in the moutain state. WV does not have the regs as Ohio does so go get wet. OH yea, take some photos.

  3. Will give you the most problem,,,,,,, if they fuss,,, dont cop an attitude ,,just politley go on down the stream,,,,,,,

If its Trout ,,a lot of that land is nat. forest lands so your cool there. But there aare a few Private trout stream.

    have fun....
