I was curious if any OGFers worked at an electronics store. I'm currently doing research to get rid of our old video camera and buy a new one this weekend. We want to get something nice but also not break the bank. THis is to get tons of video of our 4 month old so it's obviously one that we don't want to be non available in a few years down the road.

Seems like DVD, Mini DV and the hard Drives are the 3 most poplar types right now.

Cannon and Sony have some pretty good ratings and we were pretty happy with our older Sony. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. I'm doing a lot of consumer reviews but would also love to hear some first hand experiances.

    Thanks

What ever you do don't get a miniDV they are a thing of the past
I own a sony dvddcr108. I am very impressed for the price http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-DCR-DVD108-Camcorder-Review-29706.htm I only paid around 300 for it a year or a lil more ago... It's a really great camera but what makes videos even better is editing software... http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ DVD cams are also nice becasue you can ust pop the mini DVD into your DVD player and watch

The hard drives are up and coming but I'm not sure how you could watch them...
