Today 6/15 we went out of Vermilion started out going East of the river. Stayed out in 35ft and pulled 1. We then went to the river around 12:00 noon and started going West and pulled 9 from Vermilion to Sharod Park. All inbetween 18 to 25ft. It was a sloooooooow day.

When the heck did you see 3 to 4 footers on Friday? We fished out of Cranberry Friday from 7 a.m. to noon and it was flat as a pancake out there. Pulled only three '03's, one each on a reef runner, large stinger on med dipsey and casting a weight forward spinner with worm. Plenty of farm animals and white bass also.

Was out on Saturday in front of the castle 35FOW, using minnow cranks, spoons, and crawler harnesses, caught 11 eyes, + 30 misc fish.

Went out of Vermillion Saturday and went out to the 29.5/20 line and at 8:30am set up. Trolled spoons/jets and by 9:30 had (3) in the box--(1) 5#'er and (2) 4#'ers. All three were caught on a jet 20, 80 back with a small circus freak spoon. Thought we had a great thing going for these larger fish, but we trolled east on that line to the 17 line and back and all we pulled were sheephead and white bass, all the while probing all depths and colors with cranks, harnesses, and spoons, big and small...at 2pm we gave up. Ran to the Sherrod Park area and set up at 2:30pm with a similar program of spoons/jets. Made a pass of about a 1/4 mile and picked up (3) '03 fish and decided to turn around for another pass...as luck would have it, boat traffic forced us to veer off to the north as we were turning around. On that north pass we picked up (3) more, largest went 7-1/2#'s and a couple more '03's. All (3) were caught in an area no more than 100 yards long. We turned around and went back through the area and picked up (3) more, again '03 size. Made another pass and picked up (2) more, but one was a throw back. Made our last pass and (1) more was added to the count. Culled two and decided to wrap it up at 4pm. After a long dead period, the move salvaged our day with two tickets and a few released. But man, we got sick of all the white bass and sh*theads mixed in. Our payoff program was jet 20's 60-80 back, jet 30's 55 back and jet 40's 45 back. Best spoon colors were circus freak and confusion.

Thanks Tubuzz for the suggestions...even though we didn't follow them to the letter, your words encouraged me to head to that area to spend the day rather than at the west end of the lake...no regrets!!!
