Did you see in the paper today about the tug that got caught in the current and was washed over the Montgomery Island Dam on the Ohio River at Industry, Pa?
Makes you realize the power of water.

Saw the footage on the news last night...what a terrible accident! My sympathies go out to the family and friends of their loved ones who perished. It must have been horrifying to watch. Thank goodness some of the crew was rescued by other river workers.

    It's very sad.

  3. I drove I-70 this past Friday across the Ohio River there by Wheeling...what a mess. The island there was half under water and a football field on the Ohio side had water up past the cross bars of it goal posts.

Wow, I heard the southern part of the island was under water from the storm before Christmas.
I feel for the people who have houses on the island. The casinos can rebuild.
  5. The exit ramp from the freeway to the island was blocked off and had an officer posted. There were about 6 cars parked on the ramp ahead of the police cruiser. I would have to say they belonged to residents of the island. That area was worst flooding I've seen since the '76 flood in Johnstown, PA (I've got a lot of relatives there still).

I went up to the dam today and watched the rescue crews look for the missing guy, I'm not sure if they found him or not
