Anyone know anything about trolling valves. Have them with T handles on a used boat bought recently. Pulled the handles out while the boat was at idle in gear and had no change in speed on GPS. At dock with engines off i pulled handles and watched as the cable moved on the engine so I am guessing they are connected.

Have you tried contacting Shamrock?

I'm guessing they want to direct you to a dealer with specific questions? Good luck finding the info you need. From what I gather, it just lets the clutch slip a bit. Some guys say its not worth it(no juice when you need it, maneuverability hit) and doesn't make a difference, others say it slows em down to where they need it and provides a bit of insurance(I can't imagine much) when it comes to shallow bottom and potentially hitting something with the prop. If you are wondering if its working, wouldn't you notice the slip by increasing the throttle?
