Did you make it over off of Redbrook? This is usually about the time of year for that location. Good luck on Tues.

Had the same problem picked up some nice eyes on dipsey's #3 setting 145 back and numer 1 setting 155 back colors were Superman and halloween.

Anyone have any tips for keeping the perch off the lines? I went to magnum spoons and they were still hitting. Had to pull lines every 20 minutes to keep from dragging fish.

Definately tough guys. My brother and I on my boat worked with fishingguy and his buddy on their boat. Lines in just before 7 am. Didn't get our first walleye before 10:30 am. Double willow silver huckleberry on a #1 dipsy 110 back going 2 mph. All we had before that were lots of big perch, white perch, and sheep. Same for fishinguy and his buddy 7 miles SW of us. All that came after was more of the same until we switched to Stingers 175/1 and 250/3 going 2.5-2.8 mph around 1 pm. Took one on copper confusion on the 1 dipsy and three on copper leopard thong on the #3. Never got my brother side to land a walleye, although we think he lost a couple. My dipsys are black, his aren't, think it really mattered this time. He did catch most of the 10-12 inch perch:D We were 15 miles north of Geneva fishing in 74 fow just where we stopped marking the constant cloud of bugs on the bottom.

meatwagon, what are the trenches you are referring to?We are heading to conny to perch(promised dad a perch trip)probably friday..I am wondering if there are fish(walleye) in close...them guys around lorain seem to find a lot of shallow fish...Not that many our way fish close for eyes..I was looking at the surface temp map yesterday and temps are all over the place, some as low as 49.I think all the crazy weather has the water all screwed up..

EZ: My brother totally disagrees with my thought on dipsy color being the difference. It hasn't hurt him in the past. I've only made two trips out of Geneva, both times black dipsys have produced all the walleye. He was using the chartreuse one and a rainbow trout pattern one. July 5th I ran yellow/orange stripe, blue, shiny purple; all they took was sheep/white perch. All walleye on black. Standard stingers. Good luck to you guys, although George seems to be capable of catching walleye in a rain puddle.

Minnowman: Seems to be a cloud of spiny water fleas w/ lots of perch and white perch mixed in.
