"Zapp" was founded by Roger "Talkbox" Troutman, along with his three brothers Larry, Terry and Lester. Roger was born November 29, 1951 Hamilton, Ohio. He was shot and killed by his brother, Larry, on April 25, 1999 outside their Salem Avenue, Dayton, Ohio studio that the family owned and operated. Larry drove the car a few blocks away and then turned the gun on himself. Remember the incident well, saw them several times back in my bar-hoppin' days. Mostly a regional group, they were huge around these parts, never really making it "big". Tragic story...Family history

Boy that Chicago footage brings back so many memories. I took my future wife to a Chicago concert at Xavier University on our first date in November,1970. I was away in the Army until early 1973,so we finally got married in August,1973. I am treating my bride to a Chicago concert in Dayton in May for an early celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. Sorry Mrb,I'm not trying to get off topic from your thread

I'm with you. We lost Terry way to soon. Read an article one time that Jimi Hendricks was in the audience one evening at a Chicago concert & after the show he went backstage & told Terry Kath that the solo he played on "25 or 6 to 4" was the greatest guitar solo he had ever seen. Quite a compliment
