Blues legend Johnny Jenkins was born March 5, 1939 Bibb County, Georgia. He was touring the south with his band "The Pinetoppers" late 50's when he hired a new up and coming lead singer....Otis Redding. At first, Otis was Johnny's driver because Johnny had no license. But once everybody heard Otis sing, his chauffeur days were over. Hendrix cited left handed playing Jenkins as an early influence on his own style of playing. I don't believe any video exists of those days. On Johnny's 1970 debut solo album "Ton-Ton Macoute!" (literally "boogeyman" in Creole) Duane Allman appears, along with Butch Trucks, Berry Oakley and Jaimoe from the ABB
