tilt and trim problem

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by BassTrackerJoe, Apr 20, 2008.

  1. can tilt, trim on the side of motor [merc 150]...wont work from the throttle handle or the switches at the bow...any suggestions?...thanks

  2. Check to see if a wire came loose on the hydraulic cylinder. Or possibly a fuse?

  3. Check the Wiring. Also some of the relays use seperate inputs, one for the motor and one for the remotes. Good luck.

  4. some where theres two relays , should be a fuse to.

  5. I had the same problem, switches were bad. The switch on the motor was pretty easy to change but I had a dealer take the handle apart. Hope this helps.

  6. Check the wiring inside the cowling next to the switch there. That is where the wires for the other 2 switches run into the wiring harness. Have those two switches ever worked? Did they both stop working at the same time? I had a similar problem and ended up having the wires that went up to the boat mis-wired. Switched them around and both other switches worked. There should be a couple "Y" connectors attach to the ones on the side of the cowling.
