    When I was a kid the only place you saw a deer was in a zoo.

    I've got an older book on local history - it claims the first time deer were
    spotted was in the Chagrin Reservation in 1932!
    That was after we pretty much exterminated all of them in the 1800s..

    I'm surprised there hasn't been a humongous outrage moment thrown by the anti's yet. They must not have been downwind of the announcement yet.
     
  7. Yes, I remember. I grew up near Meander Creek in Mahoning County. Even though Meander was designated a "wildlife refuge" it was very unusual to catch a glimpse of a deer or canada goose. People would literally stop their cars in the street to watch a deer that had wandered out of the woods and onto a fire trail. This was in the early 60s.
