The "famous" Furnace Shore Hump

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by geetarman, Aug 8, 2008.

  1. Can someone tell me a little about the hump in front of the furnace shore ramp that everyone talks about? How big of an area is it that people are referring to when they say the furnace shore hump? How deep is the water there and roughly how far from the ramp is the hump? I'm going to try finding this place in the morning in an attempt to drift for some saugeye and was hoping for a little help. I'm just starting out fishing for saugeye, so I'm not going to hold my breath but think I will give it a shot anyways....Thanks in advance.

  2. From the ramp, you will need to head towards the big cove that is across from the Furnas Shore ramp. The hump will be located approx. 1/3 of the way across the lake. Most of the hump will be 11 to 15 ft. deep and it will rise up to 8 1/2 ft. in and area. It is pretty decent size.
