The 2001 Water Quality study for LMR & GRM Basins

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by spiff, Jul 8, 2004.

  1. Found this during one of my searches. Talks about the concentrations of pesticides, other chemicals and heavy metals in some of our fish...particularly smallmouth(mercury) and carp (PCBs). Gives a pretty good view of what the water quality of the two basins was/is as of 2001 after a 3 year intensive study.

It's 42 megs, but will display a page as it gets there, so not too bad.

    Food for thought.

  2. Interesting stuff. Thanks for the link. While the water quality is improving in both the GMR and LMR, the pollution levels noted in the study are eye opening. Just one more reason to practice catch & release.
