Hit the field this morning. It was raining cats and dogs before the alarm went off, and I was thinking of cancelling. By the time the alarm sounded off, the rain had stopped. I threw some decoys in the truck and headed for the field. We setup the dekes, and sat in the blind waiting for shooting time. It took a while, but the birds finally showed up. There were ducks and geese flying in every direction, but very few of them felt like getting shot for some reason. We ended with four ducks and five geese. We let the two youngsters in the blind do the brunt of the shooting, and they didn't let us down. The morning wasn't bad, but when the wind kicked up, it was downright cold. We had four does run across the field while we were sitting in the blind.
