tenderloin................it's what's for dinner

    decided to have a real dinner tonight,so i thawed out the venison tenderloin that leupy gave me awhile back.sliced it into medallions and marinated it in a mixture of balsamic vinegar,olive oil,soy sauce,worchester sauce,lemon juice,garlic salt and a couple shots of liquid smoke.
    turned out great,and no need for a knife to cut it:)
    leftovers should go great with my eggs for breakfast in the morning:)

    somewhere between 6 and noon:p :D
    with no wife,kids,dog,cat or job,i can get up as early or late as i want;)

    yep.pan fried in olive oil and butter.

  10. It looks great but if you do some for me for breakfast I prefer my done medium-medium/well. Thank you.:D

    I think we will be having a meal of tenderloins one night this week. I am packing and freezing some tonight and plan to to some out.

    A bud traded us some of that tasty stuff for some perch.
    I cooked some last week on a stick, over a wood fire.
    I wanted to taste deer, so I didn't season or marinate.
    It was awesome, plus the wife got a kick out of me eating like a
    caveman, with meat on a stick!

    brian,i never cook it beyond your specs.

    mainated for a couple hours after slicing.would take longer if done whole.

    troy,i hated peas when i was a young lad,but have developed a taste for them in my geriatric years:D

    Do you have a recipe for that marinate that you used or did you just wing it? That sounds like an interesting one that I would like to try.
     
  14. I'm with the others...There would be NO leftovers!
    That marinade is close to what my daughter uses on flank steak..I use it (with a couple added ingredients) on my beef jerky. The combination of those flavors is excellent.

    brian,i think it went something like this.

    1/3 cup of olive oil

    1/4 cup of balsamic vinegar

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1/4 cup of lemon juice

    2 Tablespoons of Worchester sauce

    1 teaspoon of garlic salt(or couple of crushed garlic cloves)

    couple shakes of liquid smoke

    that works for up to about 1 1/2 pounds or so of meat.
    you could toss in some herbs also,but i was a little short of the ones i like.
     
  16. I wrote that down. I just finished packing up a bunch of straps last night. I left one package upstairs for later this week. I may get a chance to try it then.

    Misfit, I tried your marinade on some chops the other day. VERY GOOD. Thanks for sharing it!:)
