Can some of you guys post some of your crappie mix recipes. All we use is the store bought mix and it is pretty lame. Looks like Tennessee Ernie Ford on the box. LOL I had some crappie last year that the people told me was a beer batter mix and it was really good. Oh course it was a secret family recipe and they wouldn,t tell me what it was.
I only keep a few for dinner. LakeRaider<><>

my favorite mixture and method is as follows.
1 tube of town house or ritz
    1 package of graham crackers
i put all the crackers in a food processor until powder,
toss the filets in regular flour, dunk in a mixture or milk and eggs beaten, then cover with crackers mixture. oil @350. = tasty finger food

another is same as above but instead of cracker mixture use instant mash potatoes.

I'm partial to a simple cornmeal breading and deep frying. A little cornmeal, a little paprika, garlic powder, fresh ground black pepper, a pinch of celery salt or table salt. Makes a nice thin, textured coating. I dip the fillets in milk or water, then shake them up in a plastic bag with the cornmeal. Then into the hot oil until they just start to float. Garnish with a spoonful of sweet pickle relish or some ground horseradish. Yum

  7. LakeRaider,

1 cup flour seasoned with 1 tsp salt & 1/4 tsp pepper
    dip in beaten egg
roll in finely crushed Keebler "Club" cracker crumbs(no substitutes)
fry in 375 degree peanut or vegetable oil just until they float.
key to fryin' fish is: when they float, they're NOT overcook.
