Fished about 3 to 4 miles southwest of the kidney on 7/18. We brought in 18 walleye from 16 to 21 inches, released another dozen or so, lost count, and tons of trash. Started pulling big boards with 40 TT back 35 to 45, spoons on one side and harnesses on the other. The white perch and bass were so bad that after an hour and 3 dozen night crawlers we switched everything over to spoons. We also ran dipseys on a 3 setting back 75. After 10am the bite turned to a strong dipsey bite. We changed the TTs to back 65 to 75, and added another dipsey rod to each side at a 1 setting back 60. We changed to the big michigan spoons with any color with a goldish bronze flash to it. Also pulled a few reef runners behind some of the TTs. We caught walleye on almost every type of lure we had out. Fun day back on the water. Hopefully some cooler days are ahead....IT WAS HOT OUT THERE!
