I've never caught one but this will be the year.
What do they bite on.
Live/artificial?
I will be fishing Kiser predominately with a Jon boat, canoe, or Kayak.
Thank you.

Stripers like meat! We used to catch small gills and crappie under the dock lights at the east ramp at West Branch. We'd do that around 4:30 am, get a dozen or so in a bucket, go out and watch the locator while motoring slowly towards the dam over the deepest water in the lake(50 ft, river bed), and look for big marks at 20-30 feet suspended. Let the gill/crap down there in front of them with a big hook and large sinker set at the proper depth and hold on! BIG buck tail jigs worked once we got them going crazy and smashing bait on the surface. This was usually around daybreak. I've heard cut bait, similar to catfishing, will work also but never really had to use it.
ps-hold on tight, esp. in the canoe or yak! I've had them pull me around in the 16R I used to fish them in.
