Striped Bass

  1. Well a friend has a pond on his property that nearly no one fishes anymore. he gave me permission to come over and fish he says there are lmb, cats, and striped bass in it. i have never fished for nor caught a striped. im just wondering what i can expect them to hit on? will they hit everything that a lmb will hit or will i need to specifically target them?

  2. if they are in a pond they are probably hybrid stripers, wich makes fish for them a little easier. the most exciting way to fish for them and probably the best way to find where they are is throwing a topwater, spooks are usually the best because you can fish them fast. for these fish it is not a slow walk the dog its a run the dog and if they miss it speed up dont slow down, that can turn them off. sluggos and large light colored curly tails are good follow up baits once you find some fish, large rooster tails or bass sized rattletraps also work
