stren fluorocarbon

Discussion in 'Tackle Talk' started by flyguy, Jun 6, 2004.

  1. I bought a spool of the abovementioned line in 8# yesterday and tried to spool it on a reel today. I have tried orienting the spool in every way possible, and no matter what I do, the line twists on itself when given any slack. Is this typical, or do I have a defective batch? Any thoughts on how I can get it on without twist? Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I have used Vanish line and it was the same way. IMO the best flourocarbon on the market is seaguar. The stuff is very abrasion resistant and handles very well for a flourocarbon.

most flourocarbons don't handle to well, after filling your spool spray it good with reel magic and let it set for a little while before using it, it will make the line handle 100% better.

I agree with Procraftboats21. I have been using Reel Magic for the last 3 years. It sure does take some of the stiffness out of Stren Fluoro and P-line Fluoroclear. I don't fish a tourney without it.
