Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience kayaking on the still water river.
I was thinking about putting my kayak in the water in Englewood.

The concern I had was I am not sure what the current is like on the river. I have a fairly slow fishing kayak and am normally by myself. How hard is it to paddle up river and fish? Is there too much current to go up river or is the water pretty slow?

Thanks in advanced for any responses!

It is relatively calm water, but if you are floating down and paddling back upstream you may do better to put in on the south end of Covington as there is less fast moving water.

The water is pretty slow for the most part but there are a few spots on the river that have pretty fast current. One particular area is just north of the Lienesch Dr. canoe/kayak takeout ramp. Good small mouth spot due to the big rocks!

There is a canoe company in west milton where they travel down the stillwater from there to englewood. long trips. you should be fine. ive done it and fished it for years.
