We picked up three on Monday out of Geneva, 03/58. Monkey puke, orange crush and wonder bread spoons, off dipseys and down riggers, while trolling for walleyes. 73 FOW. Herd reports on the radio and at the dock of others getting them too.
We picked up a couple of steelies at the 08 line on Sunday on a 50 jet with nascar spoon. Was looking for walleyes, but only one 28 inch would cooperate. We were pulling harnesses and spoons of all colors, all kinds of marks out there. Long ride for one eye and junk fish galore, but steelies were fun the first put on quite a show with two big jumps. Fished for about four hours from 8-12 then called it quits.
We only got four walleyes, two 7 lb, two 20 inch. We couldn't keep the bait in the water without getting a yellow perch, white bass, or a junk fish, although only two farm animals. Trolled about 2.2 to 2.6 mph. Does anyone know if the trolling speed will keep the little guys off long enough?
