Steelhead Expo Sept 27 at Rocky River Nature Center

  1. For the first time in 15 years, the annual Steelhead Expo hosted by the Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders is moving to Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Nature Center on Sat Sept 27, 2008. This is a great venue for the event, as there is even an overlook deck to the river to view spey casting demonstrations, for example. The event has info related to all the techniques for steelhead angling in our streams (bait/spinning, fly fishing, centerpin float fishing). The main reason for the change of venue is to service the west side Ohio steelhead anglers, too (it's been on the east side in the past). This event has a full day of offerings for beginners and experts alike. There is no entrance fee this year, but a suggested donation will be encouraged to support this non-profit sportsman's group which is very active in supporting conservation initiatives and giving back to the sporting community in many ways.
