Steelehead Recipes

Discussion in 'OGF Kitchen' started by Longspur, Aug 2, 2007.

  1. Curious if anyone has any good recipes for preparing steelehead to share. I have only ever had them smoked, which is very good but would like to try something different for a change. Thanx in advance.

  2. We used to do this for cohos, but it should work with trout.

filet and then cube the meat, then parboil it which is basically plunging it in boiling salt water until it's done. then serve with lemon and butter on the side like lobster. on a huge plate toothpicks could be used to dip the meat. some bread on the side is a nice compliment. I used to put it out at my parents' tavern and the guys would go crazy, but they'd eat about anything free, lol.

This is not a cholesterol friendly meal!!
