Spring Wallies on Skeeter Question

Discussion in 'Northeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by 1MoreKast, Mar 15, 2008.

  1. My winter quarter at Ohio University is coming to an end and it is time for spring break. Rather than most typical college students going on vacation to some beach and getting tanked, I plan on spending most of my time getting in as much fishing as possible:D . Had an excellent spring 07 for walleye on western basin erie and did exceptional at skeeter. I will be home the 18th - 30th of March. Is this too early to grab a few eyes at skeeter? I've only fished there a handful of times and don't think I have ever been there at any time other than mid April. Is the ice expected to be off and will the walleye bite be worthy enough to make a trip? I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

  2. With the nights still alittle on the cold side it might be a couple more weeks for the ice to come off. Still I think the eyes will be hungry regardless of the ice/weather. The smaller ones eat ALOT!
