So given these somewhat rare, huge, summer releases of water, would you think spillway fishing would be good when the water comes down. You may not be able to do much while the water is raging out of the dam but how about as it recedes to normal level?

Actually with warmer water temps the fish will be more willing to feed in the faster water. Just a matter of the fish being there or not. Only one way to know...

I have learned though that certain times of the year the fish will hang out at face of the dams and other times they don't. And will really make a difference in the fish washed into the spillway's. Then you have other spillway's were your not fishing fished that got dumped. But your fishing fish that are comeing up stream to take advantage of anything that maybe dumped into or disoriented from the higher levals they can eat... id imagine if Color is good in those spillway's the fishing could be hottt!
